As part of an ongoing series of still lifes, I've been painting personal ephemera arranged according to a child's whim and then left behind, as though the playdate just ended.
Each composition is cut free from its masonite panel so it can dialogue with the gallery wall. My intention is to frame wry mysteries of identity in an unfussy trompe l'oeil style that indulges texture, yet maintains a flat affect.
